> Feasibility study: CI Philippines has commissioned a Philippines-based engineering firm to perform a technical feasibility study (TFS) of six (6) project sites in Concepcion, Iloilo, with respect to the application of hybrid green-gray infrastructure, climate change resilience and disaster risk reduction.
> Two pilot sites (Bagongon and Tambaliza) have been chosen for the implementation of green solutions (mangrove restoration) and gray solutions (dike construction or berm modification) based on two sets of criteria: (1) vulnerability (physical, social, ecological) and (2) applicability of gray-green solutions at the site.
> Major outreach and mobilisation of local communities
> Community nurseries: the project involves restoring 30 ha of mangrove forests, i.e. 300,000 plants; two community mangrove nurseries have been set up in Polopina and Bagongon.
