The four countries comprising the Mesoamerican Reef System (MAR ecoregion), which include Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras have vast expanses of mangroves. But mangrove losses are very high (about 110,000 ha in the last 20 years) and, under the coordination of Marfund and its partners, a major workshop was held to develop the mangrove protection strategy for the region in a participatory manner. > Download the strategy document in english > View all workshop documents in english ; en espanol
